Begum Jahanara Shahnawaz: Who Won the Political Rights For the Indian Women

Begum Jahanara Shahnawaz was one of the two women representatives at the First Round Table Conference, one of the three women representatives at the Second Round Table Conference, and the only woman at the Third Round Table Conference. Later on, when the Joint Select Committee was formed to finalize the Government of India Act, of 1935, Jahanara was the only woman member of it.

Sale’s Quran and it’s influence on the Western perception of Prophet of Islam (PBUH):

The Original work of George Sale was published in 1734, which is in two volumes. The translation of the Quran by Sale has his own commentary along with notes in with an extra 200 pages; not particularly on the Quran but rather upon the history of Islam. Perhaps, this could be argued that this may encourage the reader to understand the Qur’an’s historical context.

When a British Captain left 953 Indian Hajjis (Pilgrims) to die in the Ocean

On 11th August 1880, the whole World woke up to the shocking news that SS Jeddah, a ship carrying 953 hajjis (pilgrims for Mecca), had drowned in the sea near Cape Guardafui, near the easternmost point of Africa, on 8th August. All on board perished except the captain, his wife, the chief officer, the chief engineer, the assistant engineer, and 16 Indian crew members. The survivors were rescued by SS Scindia and landed at Aden in Yemen.
